Santiago by Cru Le is a unique, adaptive, sustainable, and versatile coat that can be disassembled into a long coat, blazer, and a short blazer with just a few alterations of zippers.

How about a coat that can double as multiple types of apparel in just a few seconds? Sounds utopian, right? Well, rising eco-friendly, Italian fashion brand Cru Le has recently launched a revolutionary outerwear on Kickstarter that can change into versatile forms of clothing, thanks to its unique modular design. Titled “Santiago,” the adaptable coat also upholds the values of minimalism and a sustainable future.

The campaign is geared to raise around $29,372 by September 10, 2020.

The FIRST of its kind, Santiago is a long coat, blazer, and a short blazer in one. The skirt, top, and sleeves of the clothing can be separated easily using the zippers to make the desired alterations for your preferred form of outerwear. The bottom part can be worn as a skirt too due to the presence of loops.

“Santiago is all set to disrupt the traditional outerwear industry with its exclusive versatility. Backed by intelligent modular design, the coat can adjust to your outerwear needs like a boss. Thanks to its permanent bonding solution, the coat is adaptable, changeable, or replaceable to suit your style. It can be disassembled easily, and you are free to change every part of the clothing to fit your specific needs. In other words, Santiago hands to you the supreme control on how you wish to wear your coat on different occasions,” stated aLetizia Cruciani, owner and designer @Cru Le.

“Here, you have a unique coat that will actually evolve with you. It’s free from form as well as easily customizable to meet different seasons and situations.”

Santiago is designed on the ethos of “less is more” and embodies an innovative design that’s strategically modular to minimize wardrobe space yet versatile enough to enhance the quality of every piece.  With the look and function of three to four coats in one, Santiago will save users both money and closet or luggage space.

Per the statements of the spokesperson, Santiago is handmade in Italy, a country renowned for its sophisticated fashion and impeccable craftsmanship. The coat is designed with premium-standard recycled wool and is made with a sustainable form during the manufacturing process. Besides, Santiago is made in a circular approach. So, when someone chooses the coat, she supports a value chain that respects fine Italian craftsmanship, the people, and the planet.

“Santiago is layered with 100% Cupro, a refined fabric made of natural fibers for eco-friendly wear. It’s silky, soft, breathable, and antistatic. Most importantly, Santiago is an eco-friendly, sustainable wear which saves CO2, energy, and around 89% water,” the spokesperson added in.

“Santiago brings a fresh take on our standard coat and takes you a step forward in sustainable fashion, without compromising on style and versatility. We are looking for a mass production now and hence this Kickstarter campaign. Also, we are hopeful, thanks to its large member base, Kickstarter will enable us to build and grow a large community organically. Your generous support will enable us to bring Santiago to life and forward the mission of sustainable fashion.”

Backers will be rewarded with a bunch of perks. These include handy discounts on Cru Le apparels like the Deveira Top, Joe Jumpsuit, and so on. 5% of the proceeds will be donated to sustainable fashion NGO Fashion Revolution.
