Model, Actress & Comedian, Eugenia Kuzmina, Breaks the Supermom Myth with ModelMomTV

Have you ever tried juggling several balls, while walking in stiletto heels with a kid hanging to your leg? Nope? Well, that’s the everyday life of a working mom. Supermodel, actress and comedian Eugenia Kuzmina shares the real challenges of being a hands-on mom while pursuing her dreams in www.modelmom.tv.

Eugenia was poised to become one of the world’s top models. She did print ads and catalogues for Armani, Dior, L’Oreal, and Hermes; had editorial spreads in top magazines like Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and Elle; walked the runways for designers like Thierry Muglier, Alexander McQueen, and Yves Saint Laurent. She even appeared in music videos.

Then in her twenties, she decided to marry the love of her life. Eugenia didn’t think that being a mom meant giving up on her career. She loved being a mom, but she loved her work too — and though it would be hard, she would prove to herself and her kids that you can make your dreams come true.

In the next few years, Eugenia’s career actually thrived. She became an actress, from the short film Likeness, TV shows like True Blood, and rom-coms like Isn’t it Romantic? She showed her talent for stand-up comedy at The Comedy Store and Flappers, and now goes on nationwide comedy tours.

In www.modelmom.tv, she shares what it’s like to balance parenting with a job that often has unpredictable schedules and long trips. With her trademark, honesty and humor, she shows how being a working mom can be both really crazy and also very fulfilling. There’s no perfect parent or no easy formula, but somehow you learn what works for you. “It’s all about being authentic and following your instinct as a working parent,” she says.

Eugenia also believes that working moms should ditch the supermom myth and all the guilt and pressure that comes with it. “I believe the comedy aspect of it helps to lighten the idea of expectation to ‘do it all’.” She is currently working on the book ModelMom, partnering with celebrity photographer and fellow working mom Rochelle Brodin. The book parodies the preachy parenting advice books, and comes with a set of tarot cards.
