It all started with a little girl, AlDhabi AlMheiri – she was so in love with reading even at the young age of three years old that her parents were inspired to make her dreams come true. Today, she is the youngest Emirati Entrepreneur together with her parents as they launched Rainbow Chimney Educational Aids.
Combining AlDhabi’s appreciation for rainbows and Marry Poppins’ song “Chim Chimney”, Rainbow Chimney got its name. Before this brand came to existence, this little girl particularly enjoyed packing toys with books to give to her friends and cousins simply because she wanted them to enjoy reading as much as she did. With Rainbow Chimney, she now has the opportunity to inspire children all over the world including kids who have down syndrome, autism, or are blind (people of determination), to become part of the fun, to become readers who see the world in different perspectives. Rainbow Chimney is the first bookshop in the Middle East that have boxes and books for people of determination.
At the age of six years old, AlDhabi has read over 1200 books. It is an understatement to only say that reading is her passion, she lives to read. As she turns seven years old this month, there is no denying that AlDhabi has grown into a lovely young girl who is very talented and loves to learn. She is independent by nature as she enjoys preparing her breakfast and doing her homework alone. She also takes online courses in coding, but amidst all her growth and new discoveries in her life, one fact remains the same, her love for reading is stronger as ever.
AlDhabi’s motivation to read is so inspiring that even her educators at AlDar Academy, encourage her to continue living her young life the way she does. There’s a lot ahead for her, she may become a scientist, doctor, astronaut, or teacher, whatever her heart desires. But her ultimate dream right now is to have the logo of Rainbow Chimney flashed at the top of the highest building in the world, the Burj Kalifa. This is how she envisions her brand to become known and to encourage more children to read.
