CRI Online Jiangsu (Han Xiaoqiang, correspondent Su Yuanxuan): On the morning of July 11, the 13th Venture Week for International Elites in Suzhou and Suzhou International Biomedical Industry Expo were officially opened.

The theme of the 13th Venture Week for International Elites in Suzhou is “Gathering the Global Talents to Build a First-class Park”. A total of 38 activities were organized, with about 5000 participants, which reached a record high in both scale and content. In order to further deepen the layout of industry-talent integration, Suzhou International Biomedical Industry Expo was held simultaneously.

Suzhou International Biomedical Industry Expo is positioned to build a “community of global biomedical industry”, with the theme of “technological innovation, open innovation, economic and trade innovation, and industrial innovation”, integrating various forms such as “meeting, exhibition, competition, and talent exchange”. 50 top scientists, 500 new medicine leaders, and 5000 new medicine manufacturers attended the Expo and exchanged their ideas.

At the opening ceremony, the co-constructed organization of the National Center for Biomedical Technology Innovation was unveiled. The National Center for Biomedical Technology Innovation also signed a “cooperation agreement on strengthening R&D innovation and achievement transformation in the field of biotechnology information” with Huawei Technology Co., Ltd., and a “strategic cooperation agreement” with the Chinese Society for Cell Biology.

In addition, the “Shanghai Universities and Suzhou Enterprises Alliance” was established at the opening ceremony. Suzhou Industrial Park will introduce resources from five universities, including Shanghai Jiao Tong University, East China University of Science and Technology, Donghua University, Shanghai University and Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and join hands with 50 enterprises in the park to promote cooperation in talent introduction and education between universities, local governments and enterprises, and improve high-quality development of emerging industries. Seven academicians unveiled the Jinji Lake Scientists Forum.

Ni Qian, member of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Suzhou Industrial Park, said that the park will build some international platforms for resource sharing and communication to strengthen the all-round cooperation between industry, university and research institute, and focus on supporting a number of scientific research projects and talent project teams through the recruitment system and horse racing system to accelerate the development of the biomedical industry, so as to achieve the target that the output value of biomedical industry can reach 200 billion.

At the opening ceremony, the “upgraded” Jinji Lake talent policy was issued, aiming to improve the talent policy in aspects such as optimizing talent introduction methods, increasing talent investment, innovating evaluation mechanism, and relaxing registered residence access restrictions, as well as to expand the “friends circle” of attracting talents to usher in more “dreamers” who share the same aspiration.
