Houston, Texas – August 20, 2021 – How would you like to get a free drink or appetizer every time you visit restaurants and bars all around your city while simultaneously helping the hospitality industry recover from the pandemic? Houston-based Mixie founders and Texas-born Latinas, Doris Llamas and Maritere McGovern are launching a lifestyle app in Houston that will allow you to do just that.

Mixie app is challenging the way traditional marketing is done in the bar and restaurant industry by offering a dual-value proposition to both customers and venues. From the venue perspective, when you spend money on traditional marketing, you don’t know if it will ever translate to customers walking through your door. With Mixie, the venue only pays if and when the Mixie member comes into its establishment, and what it pays is simply the cost of a drink or appetizer, getting in return a new or repeat customer.

On the consumer’s side, Mixie connects its members with a curated choice of local bars and restaurants, featuring selections from the city’s top chefs and influencers, creating a unique experience, where they are rewarded with one complimentary welcome drink or appetizer on every visit, and in turn, they commit to sharing their positive experience with their inner circle.

The company has secured two rounds of private funding with a current valuation of $2.8 million. In addition, Mixie is planning to deploy $450k + this year in its marketing campaigns which gives a glimpse of the potential benefits for its participating venues. Participating restaurants and bars that are selected by Mixie will piggyback on Mixie’s self-funded, tailor-made marketing campaigns that will be aimed to motivate targeted audiences to drink and dine out.

“Mixie is limited to its members, but Mixie’s marketing channels are not. Mixie makes it easy and inexpensive for venues to create a loyal repeat customer base while also attracting new patrons who are rewarded for venturing out to new places.” Said Doris Llamas, CEO of Mixie.

Initially, Mixie will be an invite-only subscription app, which means that the only way to gain access is by getting an invitation from one of the initial Mixie members. All others looking to join the Mixie experience should sign up on the waiting list at Mixie.io.
