FEBRUARY 22, 2023 – Monique Williams, PhD, an accomplished Biomedical Scientist and published author of numerous research articles, has taken her scientific expertise from the lab bench and into her kitchen. Here she creates handcrafted, natural skin and hair care products for women while infusing a bit of her Jamaican heritage and culture into every product and part of her business.
Monique started making natural skincare products while she was in graduate school in order to moisturize and soften the extremely dry skin that Minnesota winters inflicted on her. Since that time and after moving to North Carolina she has done extensive research and testing of natural formulations that have made a tremendous impact on her skin and hair.
The products that she created were so phenomenal that she could not keep these treasures to herself. She founded Tallawah Naturals, LLC in February 2022 as an e-commerce platform to supply natural product enthusiasts with everyday-use products that are not only beneficial to their skin and hair but also to the environment. On the website natural, vegan bar soap, body wash, body scrubs, body butter, and shampoo and conditioner bars can be found in delectable tropical fragrances. These products are all formulated with vegan and plant-based butters and oils that are proven to deeply hydrate, moisturize and repair damaged and dry skin and hair.
To incorporate a bit of Jamaican culture, the fragrances are affectionately named after different places in Jamaica including local and tourist attractions and even the small district she was raised in. As the company grows Monique will also release a new tried and true acne skincare line that she has been developing and testing to provide acne sufferers like herself with natural, effective solutions.
