New Orleans takes Harvard! Kristi Givens and Rochelle Wilcox, two local entrepreneurs, and veteran Early Care and Education leaders competed on the national stage and won big, as the 2023 Zaentz Early Education Innovation Challenge first place winners and the audience choice winners at Harvard University Graduate School.
The Innovation Challenge seeks new ideas that have the potential to advance innovation, enhance equity, and drive transformative change in early education.
Kristi and Rochelle, are the Co-Founders of For Providers By Providers, a nonprofit organization that champions Louisiana child care centers, and family child care providers, by enhancing the quality of ECE through policy advocacy, professional development, and networking. They bring more than 40 years of combined experience in early childcare education and leadership, impacting thousands of New Orleans’s most vulnerable students by cultivating optimal early learning environments through their childcare centers.
Kristi Givens is the Founder and Executive Director of Kids of Excellence and Rochelle Wilcox is the Founder and Executive Director of Wilcox’s Academy Early Learning Center. Both Kristi and Rochelle have three 4-star centers, rated by the Quality Rated System administered by the Louisiana Department of Education.
Kristi and Rochelle play instrumental roles as civic and community leaders dedicating their time to being influential advocates in early childcare development.
