Vertical Legacy – Rah Crawford’s Artistic Tribute to the Legacy of Mitsui Fudosan America’s Former CEO

January 11 23:27 2024

In honor of the 12 years of leadership by John Westerfield, the former CEO of Mitsui Fudosan America (MFA), a commemorative artwork was commissioned and created by artist and creative pioneer Rah Crawford. The artwork, named Vertical Legacy, features over 50 building assets managed during Westerfield’s tenure with MFA.

Using delicate seasonal colors, the artist has created a constructive skyline that resembles an architect’s drafting table. The West coast high-rises are prominent, drawing the eye above the palm trees, sailing yacht, and wandering locals below. The terrain and environment subtly change moving towards the east, with silhouettes of white oak and maple trees reaching up towards iconic building names such as 55 Hudson Yards and 1251 Avenue of the Americas.

The creation honors Westerfield’s 12 years of leadership with visual sophistication and creative flare, making it a fitting tribute. Rah Crawford has transformed a collection of property asset names into a cohesive showpiece that carries sentiment by reimagining John Westerfield’s legacy as a work of art.
