March 11 22:39 2022

Atlanta, GA – Alexandria Harris, a 16-year-old visual artist from Georgia, is set to launch a limited collection of NFTs titled ‘Afrotars.’ On March 23rd 2022. The collection consists of seven Afrotars, inspired by her previous collection of NFTs, particularly Monvidiess, that she decided to turn into avatars.

When asked to elaborate on the inspiration behind the collection, Alexandria states, “I loved the Monvidiess characters so much that I decided to turn them into avatars. My goal is to diversify my collection on NFT platforms, and hence, came the idea to curate Afrotars. The “base” Afrotar is Tyro, and my objective with this collection is to level up to the elite avatar, Chrome.”

The Non-Fungible Tokens, commonly referred to as NFTs, have become extremely popular with record-breaking sales in 2021. With many celebrities entering the market, making it even more aspirational. According to the latest market report from the blockchain data company, Chainalysis, the NFT market surged to $41 billion last year, an all-time high. This segment, anticipated to grow by leaps and bounds, owing to the growing popularity of the blockchain technology and its increasing deployment.

“NFT’s popularity has flourished throughout the last couple of years, and the excitement is ever-growing. I feel it is an exciting medium for artists to exhibit their work on widespread platforms that have potential to reach the world.” Alexandria added. “So far, my NFT collections have garnered an overwhelming response from buyers.” She noted.

Building on the success of her previous collections such as Monvidiess – which primarily reflects her adversities and deep dives into her theory of perception – the artist has several NFT collections in the pipeline. Through her Monvidiess collection, the artist urges people to understand and learn the value of perception, as she genuinely believes that many modern world problems and conflicts can resolve with peace.

Additionally, her Prospects collection focuses on the artist’s strong belief in the workings of the universe. Prospects has been designed to make people feel heard. “The initial notion of the Prospects was to push the message that all the things you’ve been through weren’t just random occurrences, rather chapters that play into your books of life,” Alexandria said.

Alexandria is known for her artworks and has some of her work displayed at local Texas museums. When asked to describe her work, she expressed “Pure is the simplest delineation of my work.”
